After School Classes

Our after school program runs from the beginning of the school year, up until the end of April. Our goal throughout the school year is to prepare the girls for the Technovation challenge. The challenge is to create an app that addresses a community issue. Teams are generally made up of 1-5 girls. The girls will start off using the MIT inventor app and Scratch to make their apps. However, the challenge extends beyond solely designing and implementing an app. A complete submission also has an entrepreneurial aspect to it. The table lists the requirements for a submission.

Technovation Challenge Submission Requirements

App source code (can be developed in Android, iOS, or Windows)

Up to 4-minute video pitch (upload to YouTube or Vimeo and share the link)

Up to 2-minute app demo video (upload to YouTube or Vimeo and share the link)

3-5 screen shots of app

Business plan (pdf)

Team photo (with mentor and teacher included, if possible) for each team

100-word app description

Completion of post-survey

Weekend Bootcamps

If you can’t make the after school classes, no worries. We occasionally offer weekend workshops. While they won’t cover as much ground in terms of learning as our after school classes, our weekend bootcamps will jumpstart your learning making it easier for you to pick up more knowledge on your own. Summer Camps

Our summer camps offer the unique opportunity to learn to code while getting to explore Montana. We spend the days working on code, hiking, biking, swimming and having fun! See the table for dates, prices and other information.
